The Reef of Morro Jable

The Reef of Morro Jable is a mandatory dive site if you want to see the beautiful underwater life of Fuerteventura. This reef is one of the sancutaries of the Canary Islands.

Upon the wall there’s a plateau up to 20 meters where you can find a lot of different species of the Atlantic ocean. You can see trumpet fish, moray eels, barracudas, amber jacks, rays, groupers and with a little luch as well some angel sharks.

We have daily trips at 9 AM and 11 AM.
Here a small overview of our dive sites:

1. Big Reef of Jandía

Reef dive for all the levels

The Big Reef of Jandia is the most beautiful dive site on the island. The Reef is perfect for all the diver levels and as well for divers that haven’t been diving for a longer period. This dive site is the home of many Moray Eels, Trumpet Fish, big and small Groupers and a lot of other marine life. The most things you can find in around 15 meters on the boarder of the wall and the maximum depth to reach there is 40 meters.

A dive with big variety of local species.

This dive site is situated around 200 meters away from the beach. This location offers dives for all the levels and experiences. There are small caves and archs to explore or you can dive the impressive wall. The clear water and the white sand are responsible for a bright and beautiful place with most of the local species.

2. Small Reef of Janía

The Small Reef is the northern wall of the crater that lies between the two reefs. This one is closer to the beach and starts on a deeper point than the Big Reef. The Small Reef is for advanced divers.

On this wall you can find small holes with Anemonas, Moray Eels and as well Shrimps. There is a high chance to find Angelsharks and different kinds of Rays. Maximum depth is around 40 meters.

To reach the reef, the landmark is the lighthouse that stands on the beach of Jandía, in front of the hotels. You can enter from the beach and swim around 100 meters on the surface or you already start the dive in the dunes to the reef. There are ropes placed underwater from all the dive centers around that you can descend or ascend safely in differents places and to do the safety stops. With this infrastructure you can reach this spot as well by boat.

3. The Canyon

The Anemone Field lies west of the port of Morro Jable. It is a simple dive with a maximum depth of 14 meters and suitable for all diver levels.

It is a rocky formation on a sandy bottom where we can find many Anemones and Prawns. As well we can see there Moray Eels, Sting Rays and Glasseyes in their small holes. This dive site is only reachable by boat.

4. Bed of mussels

In the same area like the Anemone Field we can find the Bed of Mussels named after the large number of Shells of all kinds that can be found there.

The maximum depth is around 16 meters and we dive around the large rock. It is recommended to take a torch with you, so you can explore all the small caves and holes in the plateau. This dive site is suitable for all diver levels. This dive site is only reachable by boat.

5. Lighthouse of Jandía

This dive spot lies in the very south of the island of Fuerteventura. We can reach this spot by boat or enter from the shore from the old jetty. There’s a small wall along the coast with a maximum depth of 10 meters. This dive site is suitable for all diver levels. We can find big schools of different kind of fishes and sometimes Sting Rays.
